BOSH symbolises the ethos of East Cambridgeshire’s aim to embrace Cultural Olympiad.
The programme provides Sports, Play, Arts Culture, Community and Heritage activities for young people aged 5-19 years old. Each of the elements above are delivered as one programme through the BOSH brand.
BOSH is managed by a partnership of organisations (listed below), and this group is the N4CY (Network for Community Youth).
BOSH operates across many different communities within the district reaching out to a number of our hard-to-reach groups that do not regularly participate in such activities.
Our target groups include Low Income Families, Rurally Isolated Communities and Young People who identified as at “Risk of Offending”.
The N4CY launched BOSH in the summer of 2008, and during the 2009 summer programme the partnership published a record high number of participants, this was a throughput of over 2550 Young People. Villages reported zero ASB incidents across the summer period, and a greater number of opportunities were provided for low-income families and rurally isolated communities.
BOSH has significantly increased levels of partnership working to develop opportunities for Young People. As the partnership continues to grow the brand of BOSH will become a legacy symbol for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
